La noire size9/21/2023 It was recently explained (apologetically) that the reason for him going psycho if you picked certain conversation options is that when they were making the game, the options were not "truth, doubt, lie" but "coax, force, lie". The character of Cole Phelps is a complete psychopath. The other breaker for me is you cannot skip most cutscenes and the game is mostly cutscenes. What a hollow, empty, wasted experiment it was to render all of 1940s LA. You can just quick travel (make your partner drive) from location to location. Team Bondi blew all their money on making this giant city which serves no purpose. It reminds me of classic adventure games if those are your taste. Most times, I feel like I am playing a slideshow with low res textures. The motion capture for the faces was only done at 30 FPS so the entire game is capped at 30 FPS. Biggest issue as a PC gamer is that the came is CAPPED AT 30 FPS.
